123occupy is a project meant to connect strategies for occupation with reproducible physical actions.  We do this through a handout, a set of instructions for building. Download a PDF of instructions for building these prototypes here.

Project Team: Greta Hansen, Kyung-Jae Kim, Andy Rauchut, and Adam Koogler.

ACTION: BE TEMPORARY

INFLATABLE G.A. is a temporary structure to cover the OCCUPY WALL STREET general assembly OR ANY OTHER PUBLIC GATHERING. It acts symbolically—inflated above the general assembly it assumes a temporary presence to the rest of the city—and practically—shielding from the elements and providing a space to store the heat of bodies during the winter. INFLATABLE G.A. can be a message board and a call to gather. When the gathering has finished, it modestly deflates, allows the city to take back its public space, and waits to be relocated for another public meeting.

INFLATABLE G.A. is transparent, made from heat-welded PLASTIC and TRANSPARENT SKIN.

TOTAL COST: $900.00 (18 FOOT PUMPS + tarp +PLASTIC ROLL)
